Convio Integrated Fundraising Software Helps Nonprofits Reach $1 Billion in Funds Raised Online in 2010
Software-as-a-Service Provider Empowering Nonprofits to Reach More People, Raise More Money
Convio, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNVO) announced today that the more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations using Convio's integrated fundraising software have raised $1 billion online in 2010. The $1 billion in funds raised represents a 64 percent increase over the $607.7 million raised in the same period last year.
"We congratulate our clients for reaching this impressive milestone," said Gene Austin, chief executive officer for Convio. "Nonprofit organizations of all shapes and sizes have created extraordinary levels of social, cultural and political impact and are playing an increasingly important role in shaping our world. We are proud to know that they are using our software and services to set the standard for integrating online fundraising and marketing with traditional fundraising and communication's channels to better engage and communicate with donors, volunteers and other constituents."
Holly Ross, executive director for the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) said, "Five years ago estimates showed that $1 billion was the total raised online across the nonprofit sector. Today, professional fundraisers recognize that changing demographics and technology are driving a shift in philanthropic engagement, as the Internet and traditional communications and fundraising channels become more intertwined. Reaching this milestone is testament to innovation, the integration of multiple fundraising channels and the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internet to drive communications and giving."

"With more relationships and means of communicating at their disposal than ever before, today's nonprofit needs software and a partner that helps them execute campaigns that integrate online, direct mail and other fundraising and marketing channels," explained Austin.
